This document describes the whole process from
ordering the ‘Illusion Body kit’, till the completed installation,
somewhere in the next few weeks. If you have any questions, you can
contact email: koops@pacbell.net
Let’s start from the beginning.
Around December 17 2000 a reckless driver hit me
from behind. I was parked in a parking spot but he still managed to hit
me driving backwards. My bumper and left rear driving light was damaged.
(Hardtop15, hardtop16, hardtop17).
Therefore, when I came back from my Christmas
holiday in The Netherlands, I went looking for another body kit. Pretty
soon I saw the Illusion Body kit, and tried to find someone who sold it.
As it turned out after quite some communications with the SpyderShopper
suppliers, nobody carried it. Therefore I contacted the Japanese firm,
making the kit. They told me that Bozz
Performance, a shop in Fremont, CA, could sell the kit.
Since I also live in Fremont, I immediately went
there. BTW, now you can order the Kit, after a lot of effort from Ken
and me from both Bozz Performance and MG
Racing. Thanks Ken !!
A couple of days later, I ordered it from the
manager Kenric, on 25 January 2001. It arrived on March 2nd
2001. I picked it up on March the 3rd.

skirts. |

Illusion002 shows the two boxes next to the
white ones. These huge ones contain the front and rear bumper |
 |
Illusion003 shows them from a different angle. |
 |
Illusion004 shows the front bumper removed from
the box. As you can see the boxes are twice the size of the bumper.
That’s because so the stuff won’t get damaged. |
 |
Illusion005 shows both the front and rear
bumper clear of their boxes. |

Illusion006 – Illusion009 shows all the
installation packages. I will post the installation description the
next time. Installation is very easy, but the papers are in
Japanese, so I can only look at the pictures ! |

Illusion011 and Illusion12 show the Mercedes
ML320 of a colleague (the Spyder is my only car) which was just
large enough to transport all the parts. Who says that a Spyder is

Well, now I’m going to look after a good body
shop. Hopefully I can get it painted next week, after my car is back
from a general maintenance, since my rear hatch doesn’t want to open,
and, of course, that’s needed for the install of the rear bumper.
